Kumertau entered top 10 single-industry rating in Russia - St. Petersburg Economic Forum

UFA, 1 June 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galiya Nabieva/. In St. Petersburg, the rating of the 10 best single-industry cities in Russia was announced. The city of Kumertau of the Republic of Bashkortostan was named among the best single-industry municipalities. The rating was announced within the framework of the "zero day" program of the 21st St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Minister of Economic Development RB Sergey Novikov took part in the panel session "Monotowns - New Opportunities for Business".

The panel session was held with participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

Within the framework of the session, a discussion took place of the most pressing issues related to attracting Russian and foreign private investment in monotowns, and approaches to increase their investment attractiveness. Potential investors of single-industry cities were presented the opportunities and advantages for doing business there.

As reported by the Bashinform News Agency, in early May, the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met in Kumertau with investors - potential residents of the priority development areas (PDAs). A similar meeting took place in the city of Belebey.

As Rustem Khamitov emphasized at the meeting in Kumertau, investment policy was a priority area of the republic’s activity. According to the results of 2016 Bashkortostan ranked first in the Volga Federal District in the investment activity development growth. From 10 PDAs, created in the country, at once two - Kumertau and Belebey are located in the republic.
