Economic Development Ministry forecasts zero pension growth until 2035

UFA, 31 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia forecasts almost zero real growth of pensions for the next 20 years, Izvestiya reports.
According to the forecast, the growth of employment can be achieved with an increase in the retirement age - up to 65 years for men and up to 63 years for women. In this case, the number of pensioners by 2035 will be reduced by 7 million people (23 percent) compared with 2017, and the number of employees will grow by 1 million.
Without reform, the number of pensioners will increase by 5.4 million, and the number of able-bodied citizens will be reduced by 3.2 million, the newspaper notes. It also follows from the ministry's forecast that pensions will grow by 2.5 percent in real terms by 2035. Until 2022, there will be their decrease.
With a real growth in insurance pensions by 2.5 percent, the pensions of non-working pensioners will increase by 20 percent in real terms by 2035. In terms of rubles it is just over 13 thousand, and the pensions of non-working pensioners will increase to 15.5 thousand rubles.
By reducing the ratio of pensions to wages from 35 to 22 percent and reducing the number of pensioners, the ratio of pension payments to the payroll budget will decrease from 28 to 15 percent. This will stimulate the growth of productivity and investment.
