Rustem Khamitov: "Republican authorities are oriented at supporting entrepreneurship"

UFA, 26 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On May 26, at the Ufa Congress Hall Rustem Khamitov held an expanded meeting of the Coordination Council on Entrepreneurship under the Head of Bashkortostan. Members of the Council, winners of the republican Entrepreneur of the Year contest, representatives of relevant ministries, departments, public organizations and business took part in it.

The Head of the Region congratulated those present on the Day of the Russian Entrepreneurship and noted that the meeting of the Coordinating Council summed up the Entrepreneurship Week in Bashkortostan.

Rustem Khamitov said that by the beginning of last year, there were over 136,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as sole traders in the economy. According to the State Committee RB for Entrepreneurship and Tourism, over 24 thousand new entrepreneurs started their work during the year. At the same time, for various reasons, 19,000 entrepreneurs closed their businesses. As a result, the total number of entrepreneurs increased by only 4,300 people.

At the same time, according to Rustem Khamitov, the republic shows quite good progress in terms of developing small business nationwide. The share of small businesses in the gross regional product is more than 30 percent, while in the country this figure is 20 percent. Last year, the turnover of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as individual entrepreneurs, grew by almost 2.5 percent and amounted to 940 billion rubles. The share of employed in this sector is 31.3 percent, which is higher than the nationwide indicator, which is 25.6 percent.

“Last year the republic took the first place in the contest among the regions of Russia in terms of the amount of federal funds received to support small businesses in single-industry cities. We have strengthened this leadership this year too", said Rustem Khamitov.

Over the past two years, the number of events held in the republic to increase the prestige of entrepreneurial activity has increased noticeably. Among them there are such large-scale events as the small business forums of the regions of the SCO and BRICS countries, the forum of social entrepreneurship, the Entrepreneurship Week. The republican contest the Entrepreneur of the Year is held at a totally new level.
