59% of unemployed in Bashkiria - women

UFA, 22 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Since the beginning of the year almost 15.6 thousand residents of Bashkortostan have received a status of the unemployed. A year ago, more than 19,200 people received this status.

According to the latest information of the Ministry of Labour RB, there are over 23.6 thousand officially registered unemployed in the region. Of these, 59 percent are women. Almost half of those who are now registered with the employment service have secondary and primary vocational education.

Most of the unemployed in Bashkortostan, or almost 59 percent, live in urban areas. More than half (54 percent) of the unemployed resigned of their own volition. The share of disabled people among unemployed residents of the republic exceeds six percent now.

The level of registered unemployment in the region is 1.17 percent. Thus in Ufa, it is 0.97 percent. The average figure for urban areas is 1.04 percent, for rural areas - 1.24 percent.

As noted by the republican Ministry of Labour, in 32 municipalities the unemployment rate was lower than the Bashkortostan average. The lowest unemployment rate is currently recorded in Sibay, Tuymazy, Ishimbay, Meleuz, as well as in Miyaki, Karaidel, Ufa, Nurmanovo and Zilair districts.

High unemployment remains in Agidel, Mezhgorye, as well as in Chishmy, Belokatai and Kugarcha districts.
