Vladimir Putin holds series of meetings on defense issues

UFA, 18 May 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Russian President Vladimir Putin is holding a series of meetings on defense issues this week in Sochi. This is the ninth "defense week" in four years, where implementation of the state arms program and execution of the state defense procurement are discussed. As explained by the Kremlin representatives, a multi-day series of meetings allow "achieving the highest concentration in the discussion", conducting a dialogue between producers and customers. The President's goal in holding such meetings is to monitor and stimulate development of the industry in order to increase the effectiveness of the Armed Forces, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta cites Dmitry Peskov, the Presidential Press Secretary.
