Meeting of official and business circles of Bashkortostan and Chelyabinsk region took place

UFA, 26 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On April 25, in Chelyabinsk the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky took part in a meeting of representatives of official and business circles of the two regions. The meeting discussed the results of interregional cooperation and plans for the forthcoming period.
Boris Dubrovsky noted the importance of the republican experience in preparation for the SCO and BRICS summits.
"The relationship with your region is very important for us. Including the fact that we are adopting your successful experience in holding the SCO Summit in 2015," the head of the region said. "We are competing for the right to hold the SCO Summit 2020 in Chelyabinsk."
"Bashkortostan and the Chelyabinsk region are old industrial regions. These are the regions that to a certain extent embody the strength of our country, because the largest enterprises are concentrated in our territories," said Rustem Khamitov.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk region Sergey Smolnikov in his speech summed up the results of interregional cooperation in 2015-2016 and announced plans for 2017-2019. Thus, in the field of industry it is planned to create a cluster of stone processing, a logistics centre and a trading house of Bashmineralresurs LLC in Ashinsky district, as well as the development of interaction between the KVANT geophysical cluster and LLC IVECO-AMT. In the field of agriculture, it is planned to supply young cattle to the republic, purchase pedigree sheep, develop cooperation with local trade networks, and create agricultural complexes of the Russian Milk Group of companies for raw milk production in the territory of the republic.
The Chairman of the coordination council of the KVANT geophysical cluster Vladimir Laptev spoke about the development of equipment production and technology of hydraulic fracturing in Bashkortostan. This promising direction in the field of import substitution contributes to an increase in gas and oil production, extraction of raw materials from hard-to-reach reservoirs.
During the meeting, an Action Plan for the Agreement implementation between the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Government of Bashkortostan on trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural cooperation in 2017-2019 was signed by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovsky.
An Agreement on Cooperation and Interaction was also signed to expand sales markets and increase the volumes of equipment sold by the parties between the KVANT geophysical cluster and LLC IVECO-AMT.
