Rustem Khamitov: "Everything depends decisively on economic development level"

UFA, 5 April 2017. /Bashinform News Agency/. On April 4, in Ufa the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov delivered a speech at the board of the Ministry of Economic Development RB. During the meeting, the results of the work of the Ministry in 2016 were summed up and key tasks for the nearest period were outlined.
The Head of the Republic noted a special role and status of the Ministry of Economic Development in the system of government bodies. The ministry is responsible for investment climate, foreign economic activity, administrative reform, quality of state, municipal services, development of competition, prepares analytical reports and basic documents for the Government - from the annual forecast to the Development Strategy of the republic.
“The growth of the economy of the republic, in my opinion, will be connected, first of all, with investments in any forms and any directions; secondly - with the development of small and medium-sized businesses, formation of innovative environment, that is, with involvement of everything new, non-standard, unconventional; and, thirdly, with the development of human resources”, Rustem Khamitov said.
The Head of the Region stressed that, despite the good gross indicators, the specific indicators of the economy of Bashkortostan per capita were average, as a rule. Therefore, the efforts of all state authorities should be aimed at overcoming this situation.
“We have talked about investments. Last year we completed quite well - 104.2 percent compared to the level of 2015. This is significantly higher than the national average. This is the leading figure in the Volga Federal District," Rustem Khamitov said. “The main increase in investment was received due to large industrial enterprises, small increase – due to medium and small businesses. And almost nothing we have received in rural areas. We understand that without investments there will be no future. Attracting investments on any terms is our priority task.”
Successful work in this direction, according to the Head of the Republic, will prevent the outflow of human resources from the region and create new jobs. In rural areas, the development of cooperatives can contribute to the solution of these problems.
