Timber industry cluster will be created in Bashkiria

UFA, 22 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. A timber industry cluster will be created in Bashkortostan. The signing of the Agreement took place in the framework of the Russian Industrial Forum on March 22. The document was signed by the Minister of Industry and Innovation Policy Alexey Karpukhin and the heads of ten logging and woodworking enterprises operating in the region. The agreement provides for the joint development of business and management company creation to coordinate the cluster's activities, within which new production facilities will be built at the operating enterprises - Amzinskiy Lumber Factory, Bashlesprom, Sibaylesprom, Selene. It is planned to produce OSB boards and housekits.

"The cluster implies joint cooperation of large and small enterprises. This will enables us to use available resources more efficiently", said Ildar Asadullin, the head of the timber industry complex of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

According to the department, 1128 organizations of all forms of ownership are involved in the timber industry complex of the region, including 272 logging enterprises, 531 woodworkers, 324 furniture manufacturing enterprises, and 1 wood chemical plant. In 2016, the volume of shipped products amounted to 7 billion rubles, the index of industrial production was 138.6 percent.
