"Ufa-Ladya" Crafts Festival will feature 200 folk artists from Bashkiria

UFA, 21 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. On March 29-31, Ufa will host the 4th "Ufa-Ladya. Art. Crafts. Souvenirs" exhibition-festival. As the Bashkir Exhibition Company CEO Albina Kildigulova said, 200 artisans from 43 districts of Bashkortostan will take part in the event.

In addition, folk artists from other cities and regions of the country will come to Ufa: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pushkino, Ekaterinburg, Nolinsk, Vorsma, Suzdal, Kirov, Naberezhnye Chelny, Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk, Miass, Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk, Komsomolsk-on- Amur, the North Caucasus, Kazakhstan. "In fact, this is preparation for the World Folklore 2020, which will be held in Ufa," marked the Minister of Industry and Innovation Policy RB Alexei Karpukhin.

The festival program will feature about 20 master classes, including national ornaments making, knitting of downy shawls, painting on wood. Many products made in different techniques from various materials will be prepared for exhibition and sale. These are clothes, dishes, souvenirs, paintings, utensils. The festival of crafts is supplemented by the festival of national cuisines of all peoples living in the territory of our republic.

"In addition, Ufa-Ladya is a socially focused project. Particular attention will be paid to the development of crafts among people with disabilities. They are given the maximum support", underlined Zukhra Ismagilova, the Chairman of the Association of Folk and Art Crafts of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
