Bashkiria agricultural producers plan to collect 3.5 million tons of grain this year

UFA, 6 March 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. This year, the agricultural producers of the republic plan to collect 3.5 million tons of grain, 1.7 million tons of potatoes and vegetables, 1.4 million tons of sugar beet and 200 thousand tons of sunflower.

As it was reported at the meeting in the Government of Bashkortostan by the Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrahmanov, the structure of sown areas in 2017 was formed taking into account the market demand for products. For example, soy crops will be increased by eight times this year - up to 800 hectares, chickpea by 80 percent - to 4.5 thousand hectares, as well as peas and durum wheat.

"Our republic is fully supplied with seeds,” emphasized Ilshat Fazrahmanov. “Accumulation of fertilizers is going on. The equipment preparation to planting is going ahead of the last year schedule".

According to him, the cost of spring field works will amount to 7.9 billion rubles in 2017, which is by five percent more than the last year. At the same time since this year there are new requirements for agribusinesses to receive subsidies. Farms having tax debts and failed to provide return of budget funds in accordance with the subsidies agreement will not be subsidized.
