Volunteers created separate waste collection map in Ufa

UFA, 16 February 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. The initiative group of volunteers of the "Lifestyle" centre has decided to create a map of the separate waste collection in the city of Ufa during the Year of Environment. They called this public project - "Clean Life".

The project supposes organizing a whole range of measures to ensure that, firstly, every resident of Ufa can come to a particular site and easily junk waste paper, plastic, batteries and other types of waste. Secondly, it is made to show people that the city has enough waste collection points that are ready to accept utility waste and send it for recycling. Thirdly, it is planned to make available an environmental map, which is easy and convenient to use, with all necessary information about the waste collection points.

Annually, 70 million tons of waste is formed in Russia, most of this waste is not subject to recycling. It decomposes releasing hazardous substances when burning and poisons the air. Today, all over the world a modern method of solving this problem is used - separate waste collection and recycling. Some countries have already process up to 70 percent of waste, in Russia – it is less than five percent.
