Rustem Khamitov has met with Russian Grain Union President Arkady Zlochevsky

On January 24, at the House of the Republic the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky. The sides discussed prospects for the development of agriculture, grain production and marketing in the region.

“We see our task within the framework of our cooperation, first of all, in contributing to the organization and enhancing the liquidity of products that are harvested in your republic. And this is not necessarily the export. This is deep processing, which you mentioned, and the development of domestic consumption. The most important question for all the peasants is - "where to sell?". We can contribute to this - facilitate access to markets for republican products, perhaps even in a sense to arrange production facilities in order to avoid problems with sales”, Arkady Zlochevsky stressed.

He also noted that the Russian Grain Union will consider the republic, including as a venue for large-scale events, such as the Technology Conference of the Union or the World Grain Forum.

During the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Russian Grain Union and the Government of Bashkortostan on cooperation in the implementation of the State program for agriculture development and regulation of agricultural products, raw materials and food for 2013-2020. The document envisages creation of conditions conducive to the sustainable development of regional agriculture and the grain market, development of organizational, economic and market mechanisms, updating the legal framework in order to develop and improve the efficiency of agricultural producers in the region.

The Russian Grain Union comprises about 400 companies and organizations which activities are related to the production, storage, refining, drying, disinfection, processing, domestic and international trade of grain, grain products, animal feed, defining their quality and certification, as well as organization of the grain market infrastructure . The Union members provide about 20 percent of the Russian grain production, more than half of the flour and animal feed production, two-thirds of the market turnover of grain and more than 90 percent of the export of grain and products of its processing.
