Bashkiria took seventh place in new passenger cars sales rating

UFA, 23 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. Bashkortostan took seventh place in the rating of the largest regional car markets of the country. The list following the year of 2016 was compiled by the "AUTOSTAT" analytical agency, RBC-Ufa reports.

During the year, 43.7 thousand new cars were sold in the republic. Compared with 2015 sales rose by 4.6 percent, that is the best result among the regions.

Moscow is traditionally the rating leader, which is accounted for 16 percent of the total market, or more than 200 million cars. Half the cars were sold in the Moscow region. The top three is closed with St. Petersburg, where 85 thousand new cars were sold. Also the top ten leaders includes Tatarstan, Krasnodar, Samara region, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Nizhny Novgorod region.

The new cars market in Russia was 1.26 million units in 2016, which is four percent less than the year before. At the same time revenue from sales grew by one percent, having reached 1.8 trillion rubles. 90 percent of this amount falls on foreign cars, 10 percent - on cars of domestic brands.

In Russia in 2017 17.4 billion rubles will be allocated for targeted programs to support demand for cars. It is expected to sell 90.72 thousand units of equipment with support of these funds in 2017.
