Initiatives on industry development strategy by 2030 were discussed in Ufa

UFA, 20 January 2017. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. In Bashkortostan public discussion of initiatives for the "Strategy 2030" - the program of the republican development were discussed. Hearings on the main topics of the project took place at the Ufa Congress Hall on January 20.
Irina Burenina, the head of the group that developed the initiative "New Industries and Markets Development", the head of the economics and management department at Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, marked several major directions. She named creation of the agricultural sector as the main project, due to the fact that 38 percent of the republican residents lived in rural areas. The project will ensure product safety, increase exports at the expense of the finished goods. It is envisaged to make complete technological chain from local breeding and genetics centres to the points of sales.
Another important project is supporting growth companies in the real sector of the economy. This is "cultivating" companies from small businesses to the companies of federal importance. The number of such companies should be minimum 10, they must bring at least 50 percent of gross national product, the expert noted. "There are many requirements for fast-growing companies, one of the main – is that the share of spending on technological innovation should be no less than five percent. To do this, innovative platform or environment should be created - in particular, the full-fledged intellectual property market", noted Irina Burenina.
Another promising direction is tourism and recreation. "This project can affect almost the entire territory of the republic - at least five cluster areas can be formed", the head of the initiative group commented on.
"How the economy structure will be changed by 2030? Fundamental changes will not occur. But we will be able to enter the average European level in share and volume of tourism and hotel business, reaching four percent of GNP. The share of agricultural production will be increased up to 11 percent, manufacturing industries - up to 31 percent, and dependence on primary industries will be reduced", the expert summed up.
