Bashkiria poultry farm purchased a batch of Leghorn chicken in Germany

The "Bashkir" Poultry Farm purchased in Germany a party of Leghorn breed of chickens. 38.2 thousand day-old birds were delivered by air traffic from Cuxhaven to Pskov, then to Ufa. In Abdon they were placed in quarantine, during which the birds were screened for infectious diseases. "The transaction has received permission by Rosselkhoznadzor. The chicken are healthy, vaccinated against Marek's disease", said the deputy head of the department of border veterinary supervision Olga Kumirova.

The chicken were delivered by the known German firm "Lohmann Tirtsuht", specializing in breeding hens. The German chickens were purchased for improvement of livestock, the poultry farm explained. "Egg-laying" Leghorn is one of the most common breeds of chickens that are popular due to high productiveness and survivability.
