Ufa electric grid complex modernization results are announced at ENES Forum in Moscow

UFA, 24 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. In Moscow, representatives of Bashkortostan participated in the 5th International Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Forum ENES-2016.

Total it was attended by more than 10 thousand representatives of the federal and regional authorities, national and foreign industrial companies, scientific and expert community.

Irek Yalalov, the head of Ufa administration delivered a report on the reconstruction of Ufa electric networks with Smart Grid technologies and modernization of exterior lighting networks.

As stressed by Irek Yalalov, the capital of Bashkortostan was the only city in the country, where works on the Smart Grid implementation had began.

In September 2013, an agreement was signed between the Bashkir Power Grid Company and Siemens company on cooperation in program development for the comprehensive electric grid complex modernization in Ufa.

During the year, it was created a part of the smart grid corresponding to the target performance. The obsolete equipment was completely replaced by the new one. A Smart Grid Management Centre with automated control system over all Ufa distribution mains was constructed.

Reduction of power losses by 95 percent was achieved at the smart grid area through the implementation of the pilot project. Today, these measures are distributed citywide.

"As a result of the Smart Grid project implementation we expect to reduce commercial and technical losses by 80 and 10 percent, respectively. It is expected reduction in downtime due to decrease in number of accidents by 50 percent, saving troubleshooting time by 70 percent, extending equipment life by 10 percent", the head of the Ufa administration announced at the forum.
