Russian largest soda ash enterprise has its 65th anniversary
UFA, 10 November 2016. /Bashinform News Agency/. On November 10, 1951, the Sterlitamak soda plant produced the first tons of soda ash, and became a major producer of soda in the Soviet Union in four years later.
Soda ash is one of the main products of the Bashkir Soda Company (BSC). Its scope is broad: from ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy to the production of detergents. Soda ash is used in th manufacture of all types of glass, including crystal glass.
Today Bashkir Soda Company (together with JSC "BSZ") produces more than 65 percent of the entire Russian soda. 58 Russian glass factories, 25 metallurgy and six pulp and paper mills depend on the soda ash produced by BSC, which has the largest production capacities not only in our country but also in Europe.
Continuous modernization, introduction of new advanced technologies in manufacturing processes allow BSC to keep leadership in the production of this strategic product for 65 years already.
