Less than 38 percent of adult population have salary cards - Bank of Russia

In Russia, 37.9 percent of the adult population have only salary cards. 19.9 percent have only settlement (debit) cards, 14.2 percent - both types of payment cards. These are the findings of the first study of the of financial services availability in the country prepared by the Bank of Russia.

According to the study, the highest percentage of citizens who have salary cards live in the Ural Federal District - 62.3 percent of the adult population.

The Far East District became the leader in the share of the population having settlement (debit) cards that are not salary ones (56.7 percent).

22.5 percent of Russians have valid credit cards.
