Pensioners’ living wage is increased in Bashkiria

UFA, 27 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. In Bashkortostan, the living wage for pensioners will amount to 8015 rubles in 2017. The corresponding bill was passed in three readings at the plenary session of the State Assembly RB on October 27.

As noted by the Minister of Labour and Social Protection RB Lenara Ivanova, the living wage is established for calculation of social co-payments. If an elderly person does not work, and his pension is less than this figure, then the difference is paid additionally by the state.

According to the minister in 2016 the cost of living amounted to 7842 rubles. The following year, on the basis of the consumer price index targets, this amount was increased by 173 rubles. Nationwide the living wage is set at 8566 rubles, and therefore, the implementation of the law does not require additional funds from the republican budget.

As the regional branch of the Pension Fund of Russia informs, since January 2017 more than 161 thousand unemployed pensioners of the republic will receive federal social surcharge to pension in the new amount.
