Sugar beet harvest in Bashkiria reached 1.1 million tons

UFA, 21 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The sugar beet harvest reached almost 1.1 million tons in Bashkortostan. The average yield is 248 centners per hectare.

873.5 thousand tons of root vegetables were taken out of the fields for processing. Of these, 347.4 thousand tons were processed. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan.

Sugar beet is harvested in the republic on an area of 44 thousand hectares, which is 87 percent of the plan. Of 21 districts where the sugar beet is cultivated, five completed the sweet roots harvesting. These are Alsheevo, Kugarchi, Meleuz, Sterlibashevo and Sharan Districts.
