Bashkiria representatives will be included in Bashneft’s Board of Directors - Rustem Khamitov

UFA, 21 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov commented on the proposal to join the Board of Directors of Bashneft received from Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin during a working meeting on October 19. At a briefing in the framework of the Russian Energy Forum Rustem Khamitov confirmed that he indeed had received such offer and currently was considering it.

"In case of Bashneft optimization if it occur, I hope, it will be focused on economic performance improvement of the company", the Head of the Republic said. “With regard to the interaction with Rosneft, I have repeatedly said that the world's largest oil company came to work in our republic. This is definitely an advantage for us, and we want to have a synergy effect of this. I mean that this global company is interested in Bashneft’s good and active operation. We agree on joint management. The representatives of our republic will be included in the Board of Directors. In December, we will sign an agreement, where the terms on joint management will be set forth", Rustem Khamitov said.

The extraordinary meeting of shareholders of Bashneft is scheduled for December 16.
