Russian banks are preparing for remote client acquisition

UFA, 19 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. The Central Bank, the Ministry of Communications and the Federal Financial Monitoring Service plan to launch a project in 2017 that can bring online services of the Russian banks to a new level. It relates to a possibility of remotely becoming a customer of any bank, once having passed identification in one credit institution. Banks will verify the identity of customers through the portal of public services. The main approaches to the implementation of this project were reported by representatives of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Communications at Finopolis Forum 2016 in Kazan on Friday, RBC informs.

The developed mechanism provides for a single visit to the bank. According to officials, the system will operate as follows: after the first, on-site identification of the customer by the bank a corresponding note will appear in his profile on the public services website. In case of need to become a customer of another bank the user can select the desired service on the website. Further, the bank site will ask for his permission to address to the user's personal data on the portal of public services. After that, the on-line services of the credit institution will be available for the user.
