Number of flights and passenger traffic on international routes fell by half in Bashkiria
UFA, 13 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Bashkortostan the number of flights and passenger traffic on international routes fell by half in the first nine months of the year. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Republican Customs Dmitry Denis Mosalev. This is due to the flight ban to Egypt (after the explosion of the Russian aircraft on October 31, 2015) and to Turkey (after the Su-24 was shot down in November 2015 and a coup attempt in July 2016).
As a result, the international terminal of the Ufa airport recorded decrease in number of passengers by 46 percent and in number of flights by 55 percent. 2.5 thousand flights were committed from Ufa in 2015 (nine months) and 401.5 thousand tourists were transported this year compared with about 1,4 thousand flights and 217.5 thousand passengers in 2014.
