Four cities Bashkortostan claim for priority development areas status

UFA, 12 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkortostan submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia an application for the establishment of priority development areas (PDAs) in monocities of the second and third categories in the republic. These include: Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Uchaly and Blagoveshchensk. The appropriate applications are signed by the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development RB, work with these municipalities is based on the positive experience of the PDAs creation in monocities of Kumertau and Belebey. Management teams of these cities have been trained at the Moscow "Skolkovo" Management School on the program of the Monocities Development Fund and have already successfully defended their projects. Currently, the process on awarding them the PDA status is under approval of the RF Government.
The amendments to the federal law dated January 1, 2017, establish a possibility of creating PDAs in all Russian single-industry municipalities, regardless of their category.
This status will allow the single-industry entities to receive tax preferences and other incentives for businesses that implement investment projects, as well as to improve a socio-economic situation in their territories.
