Buckwheat harvest exceeded 93 thousand tons in Bashkiria

UFA, 10 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkortostan farmers harvested 93.4 thousand tons of buckwheat.

As the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB informs, buckwheat is cultivated in 51 districts of the republic. This year, its area exceeded 87 000 hectares.

Last year buckwheat was sown on 85.6 thousand hectares. The average yield this year amounted to 10.7 centners per hectare. The yield of buckwheat received by farmers of Bakaly, Karmaskaly and Chekmagush Districts is twice higher than the average republican figure.

Bakaly, Baltachevo, Duvan and Kushnarenkovo Districts are leading in threshing these crops. By more than five thousand tons of buckwheat are harvested in each of them.
