More than half of sugar beet areas are harvested in Bashkiria
UFA, 3 October 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Over the weekend beet growers managed to harvest the crop in almost 3.3 thousand hectares in Bashkortostan. To date, the sugar beet was harvested on an area exceeding 26,000 hectares, more than half of all crops in the republic. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB.
With an average yield of 232 kg per hectare in the region about 603.5 thousand tons of sweet roots were received.
The highest yield of sugar beet is observed this year in Chishmy District, where 287 centners per hectare are obtained. In Chekmagush and Blagovar regions this figure is 272 and 270 tons per hectare, respectively.
