Bashkortostan farmers sold more than 14 thousand tons of grain to Russian Intervention Fund

UFA, 29 September 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Farmers of Bashkortostan sold another batch of grain of more than six thousand tons for the total amount of 61.9 million rubles to the State Intervention Fund. For two days over 14 thousand tons of grain totaling 148.5 million rubles were sold to the Russian Intervention Fund.
The next auctions are scheduled for October 4 and 5.
More information on participation in the exchange auctions is available on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan.
Earlier it was reported that the republican farmers plan to sell more than 185,000 tons to the State Intervention Fund. 29 farms from 15 districts intend to participate in the grain interventions this year.
State interventions on purchase and sale of grain (trade ones) are held in Russia since 2001 to stabilize domestic grain prices. In case of high yield interventions allow to remove the grain excess from the market and to stimulate the growth of prices, which enables farmers to avoid losses.
The United Grain Company State is an intervention agent since 2009.
