Bashkiria consistently ranks among 20 Russian regions with low debt load - Control and Audit Office

The Ufa Congress Hall hosted a scientific-practical conference of heads of control and audit bodies of the Russian Federation on September 28. Participants reviewed the current issues of the state financial control in the area of debt policies pursued by the subjects of the country, as well as its impact on the implementation of the budget and socio-economic development of the region.
"Bashkortostan consistently ranks among 20 regions of Russia with a low debt burden. The state debt ratio to annual budget income allocations is 22 percent,” informed the Chairman of the Control and Audit Office RB Ramil Iskuzhin. “Last year, our republic ranked first among the subjects of the Volga Federal District and the 12th among the Russian regions in level of debt burden".
The Office provides the regional leadership with independent information on the financial stability of the republican budget, warns of possible risks of debt growth, makes offers on increasing revenues and reducing inefficient spending.
The conference was attended by the delegation of the Russian Audit Chamber headed by the auditor Tatiana Manuilova, representatives of the Administration of the Head of Bashkortostan, the State Assembly, heads of the republican ministries and departments, as well as control and audit bodies of subjects of the country. "A constructive dialogue took place with concrete proposals on improving intergovernmental relations and reducing the debt burden on regional budgets", the press service of the Control and Audit Office RB reports.
