Decline in food prices is recorded in Bashkiria for the first time in many years

As the chairman of the State Committee for Trade and Consumer Protection RB Guzel Asylova informs, food prices fell 0.1 percent. The situation in the market was discussed on Tuesday, September 6, at a meeting of the Committee for Agrarian Issues, Ecology and Environment of the State Assembly RB.

"A deficit has not been observed for many years already. In January-July the consumer price index for food products amounted to 103.4 percent. In July, it was recorded negative inflation rate - 99.9 percent. This has not been seen for many years. The commodity stocks amounted to 22, 9 billion rubles. It makes 42 trading days", said Guzel Asylova.

The Head of the State Committee reported that the level of prices was monitored weekly. Inspectors never observed increase in cost due to the shortage of goods, but only due to prices increase by suppliers or manufacturers. According to the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, the republic today ranks eighth in terms of food cheapness.
