Russian Government has allowed charter flights to Turkey

UFA, 29 August 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. The Russian Government has allowed charter flights to Turkey. A resolution on repeal of a ban on charter flights between Russia and the Republic of Turkey was signed by the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. This is reported by the federal media. Charter flights allow reducing the cost of travel packages by 20-30 percent.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Russia, air carriers have already started to apply to the Federal Air Transport Agency for carrying out non-scheduled flights to Turkish resorts.
As the Russian Travel Industry Union comments TASS, the decision will not significantly affect the profit as "the season ends and an excessive demand for Turkey is not expected". In October, high demand remains for Egypt, connection with which is not yet restored, the Russian Travel Industry Union informs.
Restrictions on charter flights to Turkey were introduced after the tragedy with the Russian Su-24 bomber shot down by a Turkish fighter on November 24, 2015 during a military operation in Syria. The turning point occurred after the apology of the President of Turkey. In late June it was signed a decree on the repeal of charters ban, but on July 15 an attempted coup was in the country. Russians were forbidden to fly by both regular and charter flights. Since July 22 regular flights are permitted, charter flights since August 28.
As representatives of "Turkish Airlines" reported earlier this year, the passenger traffic Ufa - Istanbul - Ufa fell by 50 percent between the two countries as a result of the crisis in relations.
