Bashneft will supply to SIBUR no less than 120 kilotons of paraxylene per year

UFA, 22 August 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olesya Seregina/. PJSOC Bashneft and SIBUR gas processing and petrochemicals company have signed a long-term contract for the supply of paraxylene, which is the main raw material for production of terephthalic acid (PTA), the Bashneft press service reports.

The contract provides for supply to the Polief factory of SIBUR no less than 120 kilotons of paraxylene per year in the period up to 2036, which cost will be determined based on the international exchange quotation. The supply volumes can be increased by mutual agreement of the parties.

The design capacity of Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim APC for paraxylene production is 165 kilotons per year. Bashneft plans to increase the paraxylene production volume to 260 kilotons per year beginning in 2018 due to reconstruction of production facilities.

In its turn SIBUR will consider the increase in consumption of paraxylene produced by Bashneft. The current consumption of paraxylene at JSC Polief is approximately 180 kilotons per year. The capacity of JSC Polief for the production of PTA is 270 kilotons per year, for the production of PET — 210 kilotons per year.
