Russia's major soda ash producer undergoes large-scale reconstruction

UFA, 26 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency/. The Bashkir Soda Company (BSC) put into operation a new carbonating tower. Its capacity has increased by 50 percent with additional six tons of soda ash per hour.
The Bashkir Soda Company produces about 65 percent of the domestic soda ash. The tower equipment is a key in production of this strategic product. Therefore its modernization is included in the priority investment projects list of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
"Modernization of the soda ash production at BSC is a continuous process, but now it goes particularly intense. In 2016, about one billion rubles are allocated to replace the tower equipment, which is a quarter of the funds planned for the company modernization for this year. All tower equipment comprising 62 units will be reconstructed by 2020. The total investment will amount to about 3.5 billion rubles", the Deputy General Director for Technical Policy of JSC BSC Fedor Afanasiev marked.

The company ranks first in Russia in production of soda and baking soda, the second in production of caustic soda, PVC, and is one of the leading manufacturers of soft cable compounds. The geography of products deliveries covers Russia, CIS, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. The company is the only manufacturer of terephthaloyl chloride, anodes with ruthenium-iridium coating, cationic polyelectrolyte flocculent.
