Import substitution should overcome technological barriers - expert

UFA, 20 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. There are still technological barriers precluding domestic food from entering the internal market. This was stated by the chairman of the Bashkir Trade Association, the All People’s Front expert Vitaly Cherevkov, speaking at the central headquarters of the All People’s Front.
The Centre for Monitoring of Technological Modernization and Development presented the results of the study on the provision of Russian citizens with essential commodities. The experts were able to identify key risk factors and possibilities of the Russian industrial complex in the sphere of high-quality and affordable goods production.
Vitaly Cherevkov noted that it was impossible to solve the problem if focusing exclusively on financial issues and support measures. Creation of appropriate infrastructure, and timely technology implementation should not be forgotten.
The "Import Substitution Civil Calendar" project took place from September 2015 to June 2016. About 1,500 active members from 30 regions, 120 Russian cities, as well as a wide range of experts of the All People’s Front working group "Fair and Efficient Economy", "Romir" research holding, the Fund "National Research and Technology Advancement Monitoring Centre" and other organizations took part in it, according to the executive committee of the All People’s Front in RB.
