Bashkiria retains leadership in egg production in Russia
UFA, 20 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkortostan continues to hold the lead in egg production in Russia. The top five also includes the Rostov and Belgorod Regions, Perm and Krasnodar Territories.
These data on the production of poultry products in January-June this year are reported by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. Throughout the country, egg production in all categories of farms totaled 21.78 billion pieces. This is 2.6 percent or 545.9 million pieces more than the last year.
In the first six months of this year the production of poultry for slaughter in live weight in all categories of farms grew by 4.9 percent in the Russian Federation or by 140.6 thousand tons and amounted to 3002.3 thousand tons. At the same time the main growth of poultry meat production in all categories of farms was reached in Moscow, Penza, Rostov Regions, as well as in Mordovia and the Stavropol Region.
According to Rosstat (Federal State Statistics Service), in June this year the average prices of agricultural producers for sold poultry meat and eggs made 95.83 rubles per kilogram and 32.72 rubles per ten pieces respectively.
