Bashkiria led Top 10 regions by number of farmers engaged in milk production
UFA, 20 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Bashkortostan headed the Top -10 Russian regions by number of peasant farms engaged in milk production. Today in the republic there are nearly three thousand farms involved in dairy cattle breeding. Such data are reported by the Federal Centre for the Dairy Market Study.
The top ten also includes: the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Dagestan, Orenburg region, Moscow and Moscow region, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Altai Territory, Tatarstan and Penza Region, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB informs.
"Sustainable development of the industry is achieved by a balance between the categories of farms in the structure of milk production. A striking example is Bashkortostan and Tatarstan, where, large enterprises are engaged in milk production along with a great number of individual farms, including agricultural holdings. The republics have shown good results in terms of productivity and volumes of milk production ", said the director of the Centre for the Dairy Market Study Mikhail Mishchenko.
