Positive and negative trends of Bashkortostan socio-economic indicators

UFA, 19 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Gulfiya Akulova/. The Bashkortostan Statistics Agency disclosed data on specific socio-economic indicators of Bashkortostan for the first half 2016. As RBC-Ufa reports , industrial production showed a little "plus", its index made 1.1% compared with the same period of the last year. Also a positive trend was observed in agricultural production, corporate turnover, and freight turnover. Most of the statistics indicators displayed a negative trend.
The maximum fall was marked in the catering market. Its turnover in the first half amounted to 10.6 billion rubles – by 12.6% less than a year ago. The retail trade turnover was on the second place among the outsiders - (322.7 billion rubles), which lost 6.8% for the year and more than 20% - for two years. The construction market was also negative. The volume of construction works decreased by 4.3%, commissioning of residential buildings by 6% in the number of sq m. Last year, these figures were positive.
According to estimates of population income from January to May this year, the real average monthly salary of Bashkiria residents grew (+ 1.3%), but this happened after quite a sharp drop following the year of 2015: then wages decreased by more than 10%. At the same time average per capita incomes decreased without jumps, having shown the total negative as about 10% in two years.
According to the index of industrial production the Bashkortostan Republic was in the middle of the Volga region rating, where Chuvashia was a leader, and Mordovia was an outsider with the largest drop in the industry. In Bashkiria in the first half of the year woodworking, leather and footwear production, metallurgy, production of rubber and plastic products and electrical equipment were the most successful sectors. The worst results were observed in glass production. Mining decreased by more than 10%, except for the oil extraction. Textile and garment production also had a decline of about 10%.
