Bashkortostan residents keep 316 billion rubles on bank deposits

UFA, 11 July 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olesya Seregina/. Bashkortostan residents keep 315 billion 910 million rubles on bank deposits. The data on the balance of individuals’ funds in the Russian banks in the region as of June 1 are given in the statistical materials of the Department - National Bank RB Ural Main Directorate CBR. According to the regulator, since the beginning of the year the sum of individuals deposits in Bashkortostan increased by 3.1 percent, with the nationwide statistics of minus 1 percent.

The total volume of deposits of legal entities in the banks of the republic amounted to 111 billion 433.7 million rubles as of June 1, which is 0.8 percent lower than at the beginning of 2016. It was minus 6.2 percent in Russia as a whole.

The weighted average interest rate on ruble deposits of individuals decreased from 8.9 percent per annum in December last year to 6.9 percent in May 2016 (in April this year it was 7.5 percent). The weighted average interest rate on borrowed funds of non-financial corporations decreased from 9.9 percent per annum in December last year to 9.1 percent in May of 2016 (in April 2016 it was 9.2 percent).

As of June 1, 2016 78 credit institutions operate in Bashkortostan. There are five republican banks among them.
