Bashkortostan entered top ten socio-economic regional rating of Russia
UFA, 17 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alim Faizov/. Bashkortostan entered the top ten socio-economic regional rating of Russia in 2015. The study prepared by the "RIA Rating" rating agency is published on the website of "Russia Today" INA.
The leading positions as in 2014 are occupied by Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area - Yugra. There were no significant changes in groups of leaders and outsiders. Financial centres, industrial areas and exporters of hydrocarbons are in the top ten.
The top ten rating also includes the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, Sakhalin, Tyumen and Sverdlovsk regions and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The structure of the top ten regions, according to the compilers of the rating, will illustrates well the structure of the Russian economy. It includes financial and intellectual centres of the country (cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg), a number of industrialized regions, as well as a significant number of the subjects of the Russian Federation, where the main material wealth Russia - oil and gas is concentrated. In aggregate, more than 70 percent of Russian oil production and 90 percent of natural gas production are accounted for the regions of the top ten.
