Bashkiria retained seventh place in Russia in agricultural produce
UFA, 7 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. Results of implementation of the State agricultural development program for 2015 were summed up at a meeting of the Government of Bashkortostan. The program consists of eight sub-programs and one republican target program and is aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of priority sub-sectors. About 9 billion rubles were spent on the implementation of the program activities in the last year.
As the Minister of Agriculture RB Nikolay Kovalenko informs, 62 target indicators and macroeconomic indicators were achieved of the 119. And an increase was marked by 80 of them compared with 2014 year. According to the results of the industry in 2015 Bashkortostan retained the seventh place among the entities of the Russian Federation in terms of agricultural production, and the second - in the Volga Federal District.
The republic still holds a leading position in production of milk, honey and koumiss. The region is fully self-sufficient in milk, potatoes, eggs, beef and pork.
It is planned in 2016 to harvest 3.2 million tons of grain, 385 tons of vegetables and 1.3 million tons of sugar beet.
In animal husbandry, among the priorities is development of dairy and beef cattle, pig, poultry breeding. This year, it is scheduled to receive 1,860 million tons of milk, 410 thousand tons of meat and poultry in the republic.
