GLONASS system regional centre will be created in Ufa

UFA, 3 June 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Alexander Smirnov/. It is planned to establish a regional centre of the GLONASS system in Ufa. This was stated by the Deputy Director General of JSC "Russian Space Systems" Anatoly Perminov at a meeting with the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

“At the moment it is carried out a design work on the infrastructure of the GLONASS system federal network operator, which will be completed this year,” said Anatoly Perminov. “First steps show that it will be necessary to create regional centres and in the central part of Russia. Most likely, we would like to create one of the regional centres here in Ufa, and the second - in Novosibirsk, Siberia. Prospects are good enough. The basis of this work will be our joint offer and cooperation with Rostelecom, which invests quite large extra-budgetary funds to this area.”

The Deputy General Director of JSC "Russian Space Systems" in talks with the Head of the Republic said that Bashkortostan had made more progress than other regions in implementation of the GLONASS system, especially in terms of legal aspects.

The work of "Transport Navigation Centre" was also assessed him positively. “There is a navigation centre, with which we are constantly working under the supervision of the Government. Only in the last two years its profit amounted to 70 million rubles with a minimum financing,” said Anatoly Perminov.
