Ministry of Agriculture of Russia offered to direct Italian investments to Bashkortostan

UFA, 29 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. Ministry of Agriculture of Russia offered to direct Italian investments to Bashkortostan
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia offered the Italian agricultural department 29 investment projects for implementation in nine regions of the country - Bashkortostan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Krasnodar region, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kostroma, Moscow, Orenburg and Tambov regions. This is reported by the «Izvestia» newspaper citing a statement of the Russian Ambassador Sergei Razov in Italy at the Russian-Italian Business Forum in Catania.
It is proposed to implement several investment projects in Bashkortostan: construction of a plant for the sugar beets processing, greenhouse and dairy complex, breeding and genetic centre, a complex for deep processing of wheat, to reconstruct blocks of the "Neftekamsk" hothouse plant.
Sergei Razov said that the proposals were submitted to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Italy Maurizio Martina in February 2016. It is assumed that in the context of the sanctions and the embargo of food, which cost Italian farmers about EUR 900 million, investment and technology can be exported instead of products.
The projects covered a variety of areas. As the source close to the government said, with the help of the Italians it is planned to establish a production line for gorgonzola and ricotta cheese, for turkey meat and feed, to build a farm for breeding trout. It is planned to grow vegetables and fruit.
From 26 to 28 April, the official delegation of Bashkortostan took part in the Italian-Russian inter-regional forum. During the event, a meeting of the republican leadership with representatives of major Italian companies took place. Representatives of the business delegation of the region discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering and petrochemicals, production and processing of agricultural products, as well as health care, tourism and sports.
