During the day a petition to use the Ufa image on the new banknote was supported by 1500 people

UFA, 29 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. During the last day more than 1,500 people signed a petition proposing to use the sights of Ufa on the banknotes of 2000 rubles on the «Change.org» website. Total to date the petition was supported by more than 1850 people, mostly from Ufa, as well as from Ishimbay, Sibay, Dyurtyuli, Meleuz, Uchaly, Neftekamsk, Sterlitamak, Abzelilovsky, Baimak, Sharansky and other regions of the republic. In addition, it was signed by the residents of Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The "Aggressive Design Studio" from Krasnoyarsk became a designer of the banknote depicting Ufa. The designers chose bluish-green colour for the new banknote.The obverse depicts the Monument to Salavat Yulaev and the "Lyalya Tulpan" mosque, the Friendship Monument is on the back.

As Bashinform News Agency reported , on April 12, the Central Bank of Russia announced replenishing the existing series with banknotes of 200 and 2000 rubles denominations. The final design of the new banknotes, which will be released in 2017, is not defined yet. The Bank of Russia will select it using a public discussion.

The vote on the selection of images on the new banknotes will be available soon on one of the federal TV channels.
