Industrial production index amounted to 99 percent in Bashkiria in the first quarter

UFA, 20 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olesya Seregina/. The industrial production index in the Republic of Bashkortostan in the first quarter reached the level of 99 percent compared to January-March 2015, across Russia - 99.4 percent, according to the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.

In the regions of the Volga Federal District, this figure ranges from 80.5 percent in the Ulyanovsk region to 108.1 percent in the Republic of Udmurtia.

In Bashkortostan, a positive trend is observed in wood processing (+36 percent), leather, leather products and footwear production (+23.8 percent), rubber and plastic products (+6.1 percent), metallurgical production (+5.9 percent ), electrical equipment (+5.1 percent), food products (+0.1 percent). Extraction of fuel and energy minerals rose by 0.1 percent, generation and distribution of electricity, gas and water - by five percent.

A negative trend is observed in the following industries: non-metallic mineral products (-25.7 percent), textile and clothing (-8.3 percent), transport equipment (-6.2 percent), machinery and equipment (-4.7 percent), chemical manufacturing (-2 percent), petroleum products (-1.9 percent).
