Russian government will soon resolve the issue of subsidizing the pharmaceutical industry - Putin

UFA, 15 April 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Arina Rakhimkulova/. The Russian government will decide on the subsidizing of the pharmaceutical industry or liberalizing drug prices in the nearest time. This was stated by the head of the state while answering questions during the call-in show.

Vladimir Putin explained that currently the Russian Government had to control over drug prices growth. According to him, life-saving medications rose by 8.8 percent, and other domestic drugs - by 16 percent, but manufacturers claim that that was not enough. It becomes unprofitable releasing cheap domestic products, as imported components are used in them.

The Russian President stressed that the Government had two possible solutions to this issue - either to subsidize the pharmaceutical industry, or to liberalize these prices to some extent.
