Central Bank of Russia plans to release nearly 700 thousand commemorative coins for World Football Cup

UFA, 11 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. 691 thousand coins from precious metals will be issued as part of the "Football 2018" program, the press service of the Central Bank of Russia informs. This issue is dedicated to the World Cup FIFA 2018 and Confederations Cup FIFA 2017. A release of investment three-ruble silver coins and gold coins of 50 rubles denomination is planned. Also silver (925) and gold (999) commemorative coins will be minted. Total weight of gold coins will be 910 kilograms, silver ones - 17.851 tons.

Besides, a release of three types of commemorative coins from copper-nickel alloys with 25 rubles denomination and circulation up to 60 thousand pieces is planned for the 2018 World Cup. In each of these kinds of coins, 250 pieces will be manufactured with a colour image.
