Bashkiria has signed an agreement with State Commission for Testing and Protection of Selection Achievements RF

UFA, 11 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Galina Bakhshieva/. The Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkortostan signed a cooperation agreement with the State Commission of the Russian Federation for Testing and Protection of Selection Achievements.

The document envisages holding joint research, development, production and experimental works, collaborative studying, testing and introduction of advanced achievements in crops raising, training of experts and other activities.

Currently, the system of selection and seed breeding is represented by two major research institutions - the Bashkir Institute of Agriculture and Bashkir State Agrarian University. Crop variety testing is carried out by Bashkir Branch of "Gossortkomissiya" in the region.

According to the Minister of Agriculture RB Nikolay Kovalenko, the Ministry has already developed a program of primary seed breeding to be defended in 2016.
