Half of Russian citizens order delivery from online stores through Russian Post

UFA, 10 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olga Murtazina/. Last year, the volume of purchases made by Russians in domestic web stores fell by 17 percent. However, the total market volume increased by seven percent from the level of 2014 and amounted to 760 billion rubles. Half of the customers entrusted the delivery of their orders to the Russian Post. The data are provided by the Association of e-commerce companies.
"Before 2013 the Russian Post was rapidly losing its market share in parcel delivery. In 2014 it managed to cnange the situation, and in 2015 it showed growth, even at the reduction of e-commerce. This was achieved by reducing the time of delivery, care about the convenience of customers", the Russian Post representatives inform.
"Sending Online" and "Online Courier" services operate for the Russian online retail market players that offer delivery of goods at fixed prices in the guaranteed terms. Development of services to ensure a minimum time of parcels receipt is continued. For these purposes 200 specialized centres for sending and receiving parcels were established in 48 cities. In 250 cities more than two thousand post offices were opened with dedicated "parcel" departments.
