UMPO will launch production of engines for MiG aircrafts in 2018

UFA, 1 March 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Olesya Seregina/. UMPO - Ufa Engine Industrial Association (part of the JSC "UEC" of Rostec State Corporation) plans to launch production of RD-33 aircraft engines for MiGs in 2018. Now, these engines are manufactured by the UMPO branch - Moscow Machine-Building Enterprise named after V.V. Chernyshev, the official website of the Rostec State Corporation informs.

UMPO developed and approved a program of such production creation in Ufa, now preparation works are in full swing. The association should launch the mass production of RD-33 engines for the MiG aircrafts in 2018. This was stated at the plenary session of the 11th Russian Industrial Forum held in Ufa on February 24-26 by the UMPO Managing Director Eugene Semivelichenko.

"These engines will have four versions. If we talk about commercial products – this is about 100-150 engines per year until 2025", said Eugene Semivelichenko.

PJSC "Ufa Engine Industrial Association" (part of the United Engine Building Corporation) is the largest manufacturer of aircraft engines in Russia. The main activities are development, production, maintenance and repair of turbo-jet aircraft engines and gas-pumping units, manufacture and repair of helicopter units.

JSC "United Engine Building Corporation" (part of the Rostec state corporation) is an integrated structure, specialized in development, serial production and maintenance of engines for military and civil aviation, space programs and the Navy, as well as for oil and gas industry and energy sector. Proceeds of the holding in 2014 amounted to 199.9 billion rubles.

Rostec is the Russian state-owned corporation established in 2007 to promote development, production and export of high-tech industrial products for civil and military purposes. Rostec companies are located in the territory of 60 subjects of the Russian Federation and supply products to the markets of over 70 countries. Rostec revenues in 2014 amounted to 964.5 billion rubles. The total amount of tax deductions was 147.8 billion rubles.
