Bashkiria enters the top ten in Russia in retail trade turnover

In 2015, residents of Bashkortostan purchased goods worth more than 784.5 billion rubles (for comparison, the wholesale trade turnover - 592 billion rubles, public catering turnover - 30 billion rubles). According to this index the republic was on the eighth place in the country and on the first - in the Volga Federal District. The figures were announced by the chairman of the State Committee for Trade and Consumer Protection RB Rustam Kamaletdinov at the end-of-year board of the department.

Despite the favourable statistics, last year there was a significant reduction in consumption. According to the data of the Committee for Trade, real incomes of population have decreased by five percent. Last year, the largest drop in demand was observed in the segment of cars, audio and video equipment, computers, shoes, furniture. In the food group a decrease was observed in sale of fish and seafood, canned meat, flour.
