Almost 18 thousand people lost their jobs in Bashkiria last year - Ministry of Labour

UFA, 18 February 2016. /Bashinform News Agency, Ksenia Kalinina/. Last year about 18 thousand people lost their jobs in Bashkortostan, and thus only 8.5 thousand were employed. On February 1, in Ufa House of Trade Unions the Minister of Labour Lenara Ivanova delivered a final report to the participants of the session on the main directions of the department activity for the past year and goals for 2016.
According to the Rosstat preliminary data, the number of unemployed increased by 18 percent on an annualized basis (123.3 thousand people) in comparison with the year of 2014 (104.9 thousand). Total unemployment rate rose to 6.1 percent (in 2014 - 5.3 percent).
The Ministry has been working on stabilizing the situation in the labour market in two ways.
"Along with implementation of measures under the current state program with the funding of 1.7 billion rubles in 2015, also additional measures to reduce tensions in the labour market were realized - a subsidy from the federal budget amounted to more than 218 million rubles and about 12 million rubles were allocated from the republican budget", the Minister marked.
According to her, the main indicator of the agency operation efficiency and a part of the cash income of the republican residents is salary.
"The average monthly salary in the republic grew by 3.3 percent in nominal terms, decreased by 9.9 percent in real terms and amounted to 25,312 rubles. At the same time the pace of wage growth is lagging behind the average nationwide level: in Russia it grew by 5.1 percent in nominal terms, declined by 9.2 percent in real terms,” Lenara Ivanova informed.
Separately, the Minister highlighted the issues of labour relations legalization, funding "Accessible Environment" subprogram, attracting subsidies from the federal budget to support socially oriented non-profit organizations. By attraction subsidies last year Bashkortostan reached the first place in the Volga Federal District and the fourth place among the country's regions.
